Perinatal stroke

The focus of our research is to investigate relationships between brain development and long term neurological and neurodevelopmental function in different groups of infants born at high risk of altered brain development and subsequent neurodevelopmental impairment; for example, infants with neurological problems such as perinatal stroke. We aim to characterise neural correlates of motor and cognitive impairment and function in using advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and we are also interested in identifying early predictors of long term outcome in infants who had perinatal stroke.
