Marine Survey Training Course for Offshore Developers
Historic England have commissioned Coastal and Offshore Archaeological Research Services (COARS) to run a training course on marine survey techniques and archaeological analysis to be held at the National Oceanographic Centre (Southampton) on 25th and 26th January 2017.
This course follows on from the successful marine geotechnical training course, designed and run by COARS in January 2015 at the National Oceanographic Centre, with the attention now directed at marine geophysical techniques and methodologies as used by seabed development projects. The course will examine and demonstrate how archaeological interpretation of geophysical data can derive information about known and previously unknown features of the historic environment as might be present on, within and under the contemporary seabed.
