Stay with us - group accommodation

Situated on the south coast of England and the edge of the New Forest the city of Southampton offers many attractions itself.

Known as the cruise capital of Europe, Southampton plays host to over four million visitors a year and boasts an impressive cultural offering, from museums, music venues and art galleries, to fantastic shopping facilities.

The City’s Titanic heritage and the stories of the people who have travelled in and out of the city through the ages can be seen at the recently opened SeaCity Museum.

Southampton’s Old Town has more hidden treasures than many other cities and is located just south of the city centre. It has attracted famous residents and visitors including William the Conqueror, Henry V, William Shakespeare, the Pilgrim Fathers, Isaac Watts and Jane Austen, among many others. Sightseeing walks and tours can be arranged alternatively, maps and guides are available to allow you to explore the Titanic Trail and the QE2 mile at your own pace.

Blue Funnel Cruises regularly run short cruises lasting between one and three hours. These are a perfect opportunity to explore the city’s quays and marinas and the River Hamble, and enjoy a spectacular view of Southampton and the busy coastline from the water.

The surrounding area

Within easy reach of Southampton is the cathedral city of Salisbury, Stonehenge, the City of Portsmouth with it’s naval heritage and the beautiful Isle of Wight. Only 12 miles from Southampton is the ancient City of Winchester with it’s wealth of museums, galleries, historic monuments and medieval buildings. Southampton is a superb base from which to explore the region.
