Carlos, jointly supervised by Julia Bennell and Toni Martinez, has won a faculty-wide competition for presenting his entire PhD in three minutes.

The official title of Carlos' thesis is "Packing of Three-Dimensional Irregular Objects". However, the title of the 3MT presentation was “How to put a lot of stuff in a very little space and why that matters”.

In a nutshell, his research is about developing geometrical tools, models and algorithms for the packing of three dimensional irregular shapes.

Carlos will now represent the Faculty of Business, Law and Art in the university-wide 3MT competition.
