Event details

Abstract: Cloud computing is gaining significant interest in Modelling & Simulation (M&S). The underlying concept of using computing power as a utility is very attractive to users that can access state-of-the-art hardware and software without capital investment. The term M&S as a Service (MSaaS) has emerged and activities on standardising it have been commenced and continue by the NATO Modelling and Simulation Group MSG-131. But how do we develop MSaaS? What entities are involved? How can users access MSaaS transparently? In line with the above, the EU funded project CloudSME developed a platform that enables MSaaS in a simplified and transparent way. Based on experiences of developing MSaaS software and applications for several industrial use cases, technical and business aspects of MSaaS are discussed.
