Abstract of the talk: In this seminar, Dr Ortega-Mier will draw on a range of examples to give an overview of his research on using Operational Research (OR) to try to improve the approaches in scheduling in the aeronautical supply chain. This research is inside a project between one of the mayor aerospace companies in Europe and the Ingeniería de Organización y Logística Research Group in which he works.

Dr Miguel Ortega-Mier ,Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain,Dr Miguel Ortega-Mier is a Associate Professor (tenure track) at the Industrial Engineering School, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) in Spain. He obtained his degree in Industrial Engineering and his PhD from this same university. His main areas of interest are Operations Research and Operations Management (scheduling, transport management). He lectures in graduate, postgraduate and PhD courses at the UPM int his areas. Currently is the secretary of the department of Industrial Engineering, Business administration and Statistic of his university and head of the Ingeniería de Organización y Logística Research Group. He also is the co-founder of a spin-off of that university (baobab soluciones), which offers consulting services in the mentioned areas.
