Algorithmic game theory and mechanism design lie between algorithm design, game theory, and economics. This talk serves as an introduction and a tutorial on this discipline. I will outline the motivation of the studies, the topics it covers, and its methodologies.

Speaker information

Dr Jie Zhang, a Lecturer in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. Before joining UoS, he was a Research Associate in the Algorithms and Complexity Theory group at the Computer Science Department at the University of Oxford. Before Oxford, he was a postdoc in the Mathematical Computer Science group at the Aarhus University. His research situated at the interface between computer science and economics. and lies in the area of algorithmic game theory and mechanism design.
