Speaker information

Mike Hepburn, obtained a BSc in physiotherapy and worked in the NHS for a year. He then joined the British Army as a clinician. Whilst teaching human anatomy and assessment skills at the Joint Services School of Exercise and Rehabilitation Instructors he studied for a postgraduate diploma in Healthcare Informatics. This led Mike into healthcare leadership and management roles. These have included a senior advisor’s role in logistic and medical innovation, strategic leadership and management courses (Advanced Command and Staff Course), principle medical planner and operations management and health advisor to infrastructure commands. Undoubtedly his career pinnacle in the Army was as Commanding Officer of 16 Medical Regiment supporting the Army’s high readiness elements. Here he led the deployment of a small field hospital in support of the UN Mission in South Sudan. On leaving the military Mike was accepted on to JP Morgan’s Military Transition Programme and went on to have a year and half working full time in IT work force design before coming to UoS.
