Colciencias is the Colombian body for science, innovation and technology. It supports Colombian students who want to study a research degree in the UK.

We have a partnership with Colciencias that offers unlimited PhD scholarships.

Level of study

This scholarship is for postgraduate PhD study.

Subject areas

This scholarship is for study across a range of subject areas. We offer priority to students who are studying:

engineering
nanotechnology
social sciences and humanities, with an explicit focus on important social and cultural issues
biodiversity, climate change, biotechnology, natural products and sustainability
earth sciences and geographic information systems (GIS)
medicine, life sciences and health

What is covered

This scholarship covers:

20% of your tuition fees for each year of full-time study
extra costs for equipment, field trips or laboratory work (‘bench fees’)
