A series of lectures and demonstrations to explain the theory and practice of determining structures via single crystal X-ray diffraction.

• The crystalline state and crystal symmetry • X-rays; generation, properties and interaction with matter • Structure solution; theory and practice • Structure refinement ; theory and practice • Data collection theory, concepts and strategy • Data collection and processing (live demo) • Databases and structure validation
