Module Aims

To equip the students with advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of electrochemistry and of the most important electrochemical techniques. Electrochemistry is a foundation stone for many exciting developments in, for example, chemistry, biology and materials and it is also central to many technologies essential to modern living.

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

  • Describe the fundamentals of electrochemical reactions at a molecular-level description
  • Apply knowledge of the principles of electrochemical reactions and electrochemical techniques
  • Critically evaluate the information that can be obtained from the electrochemical techniques studied in this module
