Trinity Winchester's contribution to the Building an Art Biennale programme

With the aim of creating an inclusive experience, WSA and Trinity Art Group (TAG) communities developed and on-going collaborative art projects into the context of Tate Exchange program 2018. These speculative processes took place both in school studios and in the drop-in centre of the social organisation, promoting creative dialogues, permanently open, centred around the themes that the Tate Exchange program itself raised, 'Production'. In fact, this word 'production' resonated significantly. It should be remembered that Trinity Winchester's art group components have experienced or are experiencing the consequences of exclusion from the processes of social production. It was precisely for this reason that they wanted to highlight the most immaterial aspects of the idea of production. That is to say, those that we find in the (often humble) acts and expressions that contribute to and enrich the fabric of our culture, our society and our collective well-being. The fruit of this interaction was presented by the students and TAG members themselves on 10th of May, 2018 on the 5th floor of the Tate Modern. A recognised forum that allowed sharing and showcasing the work done, as well as increasing in confidence and empowerment.

The TAG members comprise of individuals who may have experienced one or more of the following: domestic violence, mental / physical health issues, homelessness, poverty, addiction and social isolation.
