Cuban Oral History: Memories of the Cuban Revolution

Cuban Oral History Project

Research Project

Project Director- Elizabeth Dore

The research project Memories of the Cuban Revolution has been recording in-depth life history interviews throughout the island since 2004. By 2016 we had interviewed more than 125 women and men from different generations and social positions, of diverse racial, gender, sexual and religious identities, and political views. Many of them talked with us multiple times over the years. Several narrators who relocated to Miami described the process of leaving Cuba, their adjustment to the US, their divided lives, split between Cuba and Miami.
