Hi, I'm Hazel Cuttell and I studied BSc Population and Geography within Social Sciences: Social Statistics & Demography at the University of Southampton.

The topics covered are very relevant and often discussed in TV documentaries and the news.

Q: Why did you choose to undertake your studies in Population Geography at the University of Southampton?

The course sounded really interesting and the population side was completely new to me which was exciting.

Q: What did you enjoy about studying Population Geography at Southampton?

The topics covered are interesting and also very relevant and up to date - things you learn about in the course are often discussed in TV documentaries and in the news. The staff are also really engaging and the passion they have for their research is infectious.

Q: What have you been able to achieve as a result of studying at the University of Southampton?

I have achieved a first class degree, which wouldn't have been possible without the support and teaching of the staff. I have also developed new skills - the statistical elements of the course are brilliant, and i'm sure these skills will help me in the future.

Q: What did you do after finishing University?

I joined a graduate scheme as a Relationship Manager in the commercial banking division at Lloyds Bank.
