Population and Geography
Examine critical issues including migration, population growth, globalisation and climate change and today’s global challenges.
Population continues to be one of the most important issues facing society. Barely a week goes by without some mention of population and human geography issues in the media. Increasingly, migration – whether propelled by disaster or conflict, or provoked by economic aspiration – is the topic that social scientists want to study.
Our staff conduct research in areas of important demographic and geographic significance and bring to their teaching modules the experience of working in the wider world. The strong applied nature of our Population and Geography programme provides modules where you will gain valuable experience in the analysis of demographic and geographic datasets.
