Karen Woods is a freelance writer and communications consultant with clients across the South. She has worked in BBC local radio and was Head of News at the launch of the popular regional commercial station Wave 105 following an apprenticeship in newspaper journalism.
She has run her own company in Hampshire for 15 years, specialising in broadcasting, journalism, public relations and media training. Karen has been a writer for the University of Southampton for more than 10 years and also studied here part-time for a History MA.
Karen is a Governor of Fareham College and a former Chair of Governors at Highbury College, Portsmouth. She has also been a judge at the Sony Radio Awards and Arqiva Radio Awards.
Outside work, Karen has achieved a level three qualification from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and is an enthusiastic traveller.
