Callista Refit

Published: 1 February 2012

Callista has now returned to service, after spending January in refit at Endeavour Quay in Gosport.

She was lifted out of the water to have her hull washed and anti-fouled. New anodes were fitted, these are sacrifical lumps of zinc which stop the hull eroding. The boat was a hive of activity with many engineers beavering away.

We took off over 200m of anchor chain which was inspected for wear and tear, which had to be loaded back onboard by hand! Resulting in an awful lot of huffing and puffing from the crew.

While she was out of the water the MCA (Maritime & Coastguard Agency) came along for an annual inspection, and we are pleased to announce that Callista passed with flying colours.
