In rememberance of the life of Nelson Mandela, who very recently passed away, the Students' Union is organising a candlelit vigil outside the SUSU Shop. All are welcome to join.

His Excellency Nelson Mandela OM AC CC OJ GCStJ QC GCH BR RSO NPK passed away in the evening of Thursday 5th December 2013 following a lung infection. The legacy he leaves behind is phenomenal, with tributes pouring in from all over the world, and will be marked in our own small way by the University of Southampton Students' Union: a candlelit vigil on the Highfield Campus, outside the SUSU Shop, from 17:30-18:30.

Members of the African and Caribean Society will mark the event with speeches, and staff, students and friends of the University and SUSU are invited to join to remember the life and achievements of Nelson Madela.

The University's Diversity Team are pleased to have supplied candles in support of this event.
