Event details

This is a short, relaxed safety awareness course designed particularly for new parents, with or without babies in tow!

The session should give you the skills to effectively manage the most common minor or major first aid incidents. We initially cover immediate lifesaving techniques for children and babies, moving on to look at some less serious situations that you are more likely to encounter.

Just basic knowledge of these issues can help you to recognise when medical attention is essential.

This will be a welcome return visit to the Network by Graeme Hornby, wearing his 'first aid' hat.

Never underestimate the power of a few kind words. Providing emotional support for someone in distress is one of the most effective first aid techniques at your disposal. These simple, human gestures have proven, time and time again, to be effective in reducing pain, discomfort and promoting recovery.
