Event details

All staff and students are invited to our inaugural Race Equality Charter event.

This event forms part of our Black History Month celebrations and will explore diversity in the curriculum, with a focus on race equality.

This is brought to you in partnership between the Shine BAME Staff Network, SUSU, Equality Diversity and Inclusion Team and the University Executive Team.

Attendees will have an opportunity to hear from a panel of speakers who will discuss the pros and cons of various methods of institutional decolonisation in a question time format. The panel will include external guest speakers, university academics and student representatives.

Suggestions made at the event will be fed into future project initiatives and the University's Equality Charters.

The event will close with a drinks reception offering an opportunity for networking. Please register your space through Eventbrite

Did you know that the University signed the Race Equality Charter?

In February 2018, we signed the Race Equality Charter as a public commitment to improve the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic staff and students within higher education. More information can be found here.
