Completing a PhD is no easy task there will be times when you think to yourself 'I wish I had known that at the start!' This Q&A session will offer collective insights, wisdom and top-tips from those who’ve been there.

Guest Speakers

In this informal session our speakers, drawn from a variety of disciplines and career stages, will briefly share their PhD experiences and then be happy to continue in conversation, sparked by your questions.

  • Zoe Harris – recent PhD graduate from the Centre for Biological Sciences
  • Jack Lawrence - Research Fellow in Experimental Acoustics, having completed an Engineering Doctorate in 2014
  • Giedo Elamin - in his second year of PhD candidature in Clinical Medicine
  • Jonathan Leader - completed a PhD in part-time candidature, with cross-disciplinary supervision; now a Teaching Fellow and Deputy Director of a Masters Programme in Faculty of Humanities

 This event makes up part of the Festival of Doctoral Research.
