Doctoral College Director's Awards 2017

Director's Awards

The Festival of Doctoral Research is about celebrating and showcasing the University's excellent doctoral research, but we also wanted to recognise the exceptional achievements of our researchers beyond their particular research projects.

The Awards were presented at the Festival Closing Reception in May, 2017. A big congratulations to all the award winners and nominees!

The Winners and Nominees

Any current doctoral researcher (enrolled, writing up or awarded within the 2016/17 academic year) was eligible to be nominated for a Director's Award. See below a list of the 2017 winners and nominees and, in brackets, the person that submitted the nomination.

Citizenship and community

For an exceptional contribution to the PGR or wider University community, e.g. in mentoring, pastoral support, peer-to-peer support, contribution to a PGR society or similar.

For an exceptional contribution to research group, disciplinary, Faculty or University engagement/outreach initiatives.

Education

Recognising an exceptional contribution to teaching and learning, e.g. working with UG or PGT cohorts.

Enterprise and impact

Recognising success or an exceptional trajectory towards commercialisation e.g. spin-out, consultancy.

Winners:
