Interdisciplinary workshop on AI funded by the Festival of Doctoral Research
Book your placeThe workshop
Machine learning has taken on increasing prevalence in the world of quantitative science over recent years. At the University of Southampton we have several groups working on the cutting edge of the machine learning revolution.
In this event, we want to bring together researchers from a wide range of academic disciplines with our machine learners to build interdisciplinary understanding and collaborations.
The first session, an interactive lab, will aim to build skills in Python through a series of case studies, ranging from traditional machine learning with scikit-learn to deep learning with Keras and TensorFlow.
The second session will be a tutorial with machine learning doctoral researchers on hand to discuss problems you have and potential methods and techniques to solve them. We are interested in any doctoral researcher from any department who thinks that machine learning skills may be useful to their research.
When: Monday 20 May, 12:00-17:00 - Highfield Campus
Led by: Ethan Harris
Who: Open to all doctoral researchers
