Impactful Research
Impact can take many forms including development or improvement of an intervention, influencing policy reform, or launching a social enterprise that provides meaningful tools or services. This workshop aims to expose the mechanics – the “how” – of impactful research approaches. Facilitators will provide ample time for small group discussion and self-work to support you to further scope-out a research impact plan and develop connections with other Southampton University researchers.
As a result of attending this session, you should be able to:
- Understand different forms of engagement and impact emerging from research within the social sciences;
- Think of how their specific research activities can be translated into meaningful impact;
- Reflect on the feedback received about the potential impact of their research;
- Access direct mentorship from impactful social science researchers;
- Engage in peer support and network building round an impact agenda.
