Ever wondered what on earth a PhD in Music involves? Surely they've found all the notes already?
Well, as part of the Festival of Doctoral Research, a sizzling selection of PhD candidates are ready to share their work with you, including informal presentations and discussions on subjects like:
- Who was the 19th Century Beyoncé?
- How does the piano choose the pianist?
- Can you record ghosts from a past that never happened?
- Do we influence Spotify's algorithms, or is it the other way around?
As well as the talks, there's a poster display (we all love a poster display!) featuring the wide range of Music PhDs currently being researched at Southampton.
And of course, where there are PhD students, there is always cake!
