Zoé Ejebu School of Health Sciences
Black Futures tutor

Dr Ourega-Zoé Ejebu is a Research Fellow of the Health Workforce at the School of Health Sciences.
I am very excited about my new role, which enables me to support talented Black students at Southampton.
My research explores the role of the working environment on the retention and performance of the health workforce, nurses in particular.
As an economist by training, I use a range of micro-econometric methods and theories to robustly quantify and provide empirical content to these relationships. For instance, I am currently designing and conducting discrete choice experiments (DCEs) to estimate the job and retirement preferences of nurses in their early and later career stages, as well as the potential trade-offs.
Having recently joined the Black Futures Cohort Tutor team, I am very excited about my new role which enable me to support talented Black students at the University of Southampton. The FELS Black Futures PGR Scholarship is an excellent way to tackle racial inequalities in academia, as well as enable Black students to thrive during their studies.
