Research Students Who Teach: Policy

The University of Southampton values the significant contribution that research students can make to the education of undergraduate and postgraduate taught students through the support of research-informed teaching. A University Policy has now been put in place for research students who undertake teaching activities.

Research Students Who Teach: Policy Guidance for Schools

This guidance document complements the Research Students Who Teach Policy by providing guidance on the recruitment of research students to teaching activities.

Maternity Pay and Shared Parental Leave for Research Students

The University Executive Board has approved a significant extension to the Maternity and Shared Parental Leave policy for doctoral researchers. It brings doctoral researchers who are directly funded by the University, or who receive funding directly from the University as part of an external (non-charitable) contract into line with the terms and conditions of those who are funded by UKRI (or previously RCUK). The system will be administered through Faculty Graduate Schools. Read the full policy here.
