Hi, I'm Gladys Osokun and I studied BSc Economics within Social Sciences: Economics at the University of Southampton.

I feel like now I can now show I am competent and worthy of the jobs that are out there.

Q: What are your plans now that you have graduated?

I am going travelling for a short time, interrailing around Europe, and then I will start work in August with Deloitte in the tax service line in London.

Q: What are you looking forward to while travelling?

I am mainly looking forward to experiencing other cultures and enjoying the weather over summer, and the food should be nice.

Q: In terms of your study experience, what do you feel you have achieved as a result of studying at the University of Southampton?

I feel like now I can now show I am competent and worthy of the jobs that are out there. I went to a University with the top professors in their field who really spend their time researching so that they are confident in what they are teaching us. As a result I will be able to go into the workplace knowing what I know, and will be able to help in the economy in any way I can whether it is through Accounting, the field I am starting off my career in, or Economic Policy which I hope to get involved with at a later stage.

Q: What modules were you most interested in?

My main interest certainly lies with Economic Policy and I am definitely still interested in that – tax is not exactly what I am interested in in the long run but it is still economic policy and you can kind of affect the way people live through tax so that will be quite interesting as well.
