Dr Michael Hatcher is an Associate Professor in Economics within Economic, Social and Political Sciences at the University of Southampton.
Michael joined Southampton as a Lecturer in 2014. He holds a PhD in Economics from Cardiff University and was ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Glasgow. Prior to that, he taught economics at the University of Oxford.
I have research interests in monetary policy, pensions and housing markets. I have published in journals such as Computational Economics, Economics Letters and the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control. My work has also featured in non-academic outlets such as The Conversation, VoxEU and the Financial Times website.
