Graduate position at Zurich

Hi, I'm Helen Barnes and I studied BSc Economics within Social Sciences at the University of Southampton.

I’ve accepted a graduate position at Zurich so I’m going to be moving to Birmingham which will be a first because I’ve always lived at home so it’s going to be great. I’m being a commercial broker so I’ll be insuring large businesses.

Q: What have you enjoyed about studying at Southampton?

Every module is different and interesting; my favourite is macro economics, my least favourite is accounting, but it’s an optional module so you can choose what you study. Macro, micro, every economics module is different and interesting in some way.

I’ve really liked the social aspect of things. In second year I was a social secretary so I got involved with them and I’ve met loads of friends. The teaching and the course have been really good. I've learnt a lot of life skills, and some really useful subjects

Q: What are you plans for the future?
