The School of Education began its partnership with the Education and Training Services (ETS) branch of the British Army in 2003, initially offering a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) programme. This programme developed to a full modular Masters degree in Education from 2010.
The programme has won national awards for its innovative and flexible approach. Since it started over 500 Army Officers have gained a PGCE and over 250 have gained an MSc with the University.
The programme is integral to the professional & career development of ETS Officers.
The PGCE is unique and involves off campus teaching, residential modules and QA visits. It is specifically aimed at teachers in the professional, work-based sector.
