School provides teacher education for Sandhurst staff

Education has had, since 2003, close links with the Directorate of Educational and Training Services Army (British Army) DETS(A). Working with army officers at their Worthy Down base, programmes have been organised to benefit careers of army personnel and officers. Officers take the Postgraduate Certificate in Education. The success of this programme has led to a bespoke programme for a master’s degree.

The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which has an international reputation for military training excellence, has asked the Education to provide teacher education for its staff. The Royal Signals and the Royal Logistics Corps are also in negotiation. The reputation of our Post-Compulsory Education team has also encouraged the Police and other uniformed services, and those in the region’s further education and private training sectors to seek initial teacher training.
