Professor Janice Griffiths elected Chair Elect of the Association for Science Education

Professor Janice Griffiths, Director of Enterprise, has been elected by the Trustees of the Association for Science Education as Chair Elect, to serve on the Chair Trio as from 1st August 2018 for a 3 year term. The Chair is a vital role to the Association and the elected chair provides an authoritative voice for the thousands of members ASE supports and the wider science education community. Janice leads the Mathematics and Science Learning Centre at the University of Southampton. She has been an active member of ASE since 2000 and has served on local and national committees and boards. She is passionate about developing regional activity to support members in their locality and promoting ASE membership to science educators in schools and colleges.

Professor Martin Dyke, Head of the Education School commented, “We are delighted that Janice has been elected by the Trustees to Chair the Association for Science Education.  Janice brings a wealth of experience to the role that includes enterprise and innovation in CPD, science education and health education." 

The role represents further recognition of Professor Griffiths’ expertise in her field and provides opportunities to impact on, and contribute nationally to, science education. The role also represents the ongoing commitment of the Education School to leading on STEM education teacher training and professional development.
