Centre for Research in Inclusion colleagues at the Portswood Conference

Published: 17 February 2019

Vasilis Strogilos, Kiki Messiou, and Sarah Parsons presented workshops at the Portswood Teaching School Alliance’s annual Inclusion conference on January 11th 2019. Vasilis talked about inclusive teaching through assessment and differentiated instruction; Kiki about reaching the 'hard to reach' through child-teacher dialogue based on her current major European research project; and Sarah about the Autism Community Research Network @ Southampton [ACoRNS], focusing on transition experiences of autistic children. Sarah, with colleagues from Aviary Nursery in Eastleigh, also talked about their joint project that uses digital stories to capture the views and experiences of young autistic children. This was a great opportunity for CRI colleagues to share their work and have fruitful discussions with delegates from local schools and organisations. The workshops were very well attended and received positive feedback.
