Event details

One day introductory course for teachers of computing. Each teacher attending will take away a Raspberry pi and flash memory card back to school.

Using a Raspberry Pi, with a specially designed user interface, this course aims to explore the potential of this system to deliver much of the programming required in the newly specified GCSE Computer Science courses.

The day will include (if needed):

  • guidance through the practicalities of setting up the Raspberry Pi and becoming acquainted with the operating system
  • read inputs and control outputs
  • develop simple real time systems with conditional loops
  • handle variables
  • use arithmetic and Boolean operators
  • manipulate strings
  • combine programming elements to create simple games and useful systems
  • share ideas for future developments.

Much of the day will be ‘hands-on' so that participants can work at their own pace.

Course fee: £95 per person attending

This is for a full day of hands on training and includes all course materials, Raspberry Pi and flash memory card to take back to school.

Lunch and refreshments are also included.
