The session will :

  • discuss examples of classroom discourse and identify key practical features that lead to deeper learning
  • consider the understandings that we need to develop when preparing for how we talk with pupils; rich contexts, authentic questions, responding to the content of children’s answers, building learning conversations, etc
  • consider the ground rules which support pupil/pupil learning conversations
  • help participants to identify areas to work on in their own schools/classrooms and plan next steps to be undertaken
