Education seminar
This seminar reports a study undertaken for Save the Children of the potential for establishing 'children's zones' in England, loosely modelled on the Harlem Children's Zone in New York. Children's zones are area-based initiatives aiming to coordinate efforts across a range of agencies to create supportive environments in which young people can learn and develop. The theoretical bases for zones, the problematic issues they give rise to, and the experience of the first 'pre-pilot' zones are discussed.
