Event details
The Knowledge Quartet, a "practice-based theory of knowledge for teaching", is now 10 years old.
The 'KQ' is a framework against which mathematics lessons can be analysed and discussed, with a focus on their subject-matter content, and the teacher’s related knowledge and beliefs. I will give a brief introduction to the KQ, and discuss the dilemmas raised by interpretations of the framework that differ from those intended by the progenitors of the theory. The question then arises: who owns the KQ anyway?
