Event details
In this seminar we examine the experiences and careers of Black and minority ethnic academics in the UK, drawing on in-depth interviews with 35 respondents.
We will explore what factors have contributed to or hindered the career progression of minority ethnic staff, their perceptions of being an ‘insider’ or an ‘outsider’ in the UK university sector, their own perceptions of their progression compared to White colleagues and their reflections on the wider university sector including experiences of the implementation of the Research Excellence Framework.
