Event details
Microphenomenology is a specific research interview approach, based in phenomenology and contemplative practices and originally developed in France. It was developed to explore at micro-level how cognitive tasks and other automated mental procedures are performed. Therefore it provides an insightful approach for the study of learning processes and pedagogy. In fact, until recently microphenomenology training was a compulsory part of teacher training in France. I will explain the method and show briefly how I have used it to study experiential mindfulness processes, and I will give an overview of educational studies which have used the method to study pedagogy and learning.
Microphenomenology is a valuable research method which can provide both researchers and teacher trainers with deep insights about teaching and learning processes.
The microphenomenology method can be a useful additional string to the bow of both educational researchers and teacher trainers.
Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided!
