Event details

What is your talk about? Cognitive science is an established part of psychology with decades of findings. Often its evidence is ignored in teaching practice. In recent years the work of some teachers to embed these practices has given rise to a large number of useful classroom strategies. This talk will aim to summarise the key research educators should know about and give examples of how it can be used. The talk will aim to be responsive to the audience’s prior knowledge of the field.

What are the key messages of your talk? What aspect of cognitive science are relevant to teachers? How teachers have implemented strategies in the classroom? What are the implications for practice or research from your talk? This might support people who work in educational training or research that are interested in the most current practice in the classroom and provide insight into how social media and blogs can be used to engage in CPD and allow sharing of ideas and refinement of techniques.
