Dr Martin Polley, Senior Lecturer in Sport, worked with St Bede Primary School, Winchester, on a Cultural Olympiad project funded by HEFCE as part of the Creative Campus Initiative.
He worked with Year 5 and Year 6 pupils on an Olympic-themed literacy project, in which each child wrote a first person narrative based on stories from Olympic or Paralympic history. The project culminated with a presentation at Winchester School of Art, with 15 pupils reading the stories to an audience made up of members of the University, St Bede School and its wider community.
