University of Southampton 2003- Postgraduate Certificate of Education- Information Technology

Since the beginning of my career nearly eight years ago, I have been committed to finding the best evidence-based practice for my classroom, committing particularly to challenging passivity amongst learners.

I have been the Curriculum Leader for ICT at Wyvern College for five years. I lead a large and busy department in providing the best ICT and Computing education possible to over 1300 pupils. I teach occasional MFL lessons, having studied German as part of my bachelors degree, and work to keep my language skills fluent. I chair the Thinking Schools drive team at Wyvern, sharing best practice with colleagues across the college.

I enjoy chairing the Eastleigh Consortium ICT panel, and believe it is important for teachers to make use of such hubs to keep subject knowledge fresh and to share good practice.

I hope to encourage and enthuse more teachers to take up doctoral studies, and contribute to the body of knowledge that affects our professional lives so deeply.
