Harriet Hummerstone is a doctoral research student within Southampton Education School at the University of Southampton. Her areas of interest include autism and student voice.

Upon completing her BSc in Experimental Psychology in 2006at the University of Bristol, Harriet taught Psychology in further and secondary educational institutions for almost six years. She then completed an MSc in Education, Management & Leadership at the University of Southampton in 2014, which made her realise that she loved learning more than teaching.


Harriet is now studying for a PhD in Education, investigating the voices and perspectives of students on the autistic spectrum who attend secondary mainstream schools
