Research Group: South Asian Communities (SAC) special interest group

This research group focuses on Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities resident in the UK. SiG members include both established and early career researchers all of whom have experience in conducting research on different aspects of the educational experiences of students from these communities. We are interested not only in school experiences, but also further and higher education routes and trajectories. Group members have considerable expertise in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methodologies.


Activities of interest include:

• Discussing research IDEAS through regular seminars in order to share expertise and to stimulate interest and engagement in the field.

• Support for developing grant funding proposals

• Support for publication
