Look After Your Mate Workshops

Look after your mate
Look after your mate will run 4 times this semester

This semester the Union Southampton Advice Centre will be offering four individual workshops to help you learn the skills and tools to look after your mate.

Delivered by the Advice Centre team, the Look After Your Mate workshops will cover: 

  • Key practical tips for supporting a friend 
  • Motivational interviewing and reflective listening
  • The student journey: understanding the issues affecting students
  • Signposting to support
  • Looking after your own wellbeing as a supporter
  • Interactive case studies 
  • Kick-starting futher action
  • Preparing a 'look after your mate' action plan
  • Mental health campaigns training
These sessions will be running for two hours each on the following dates: 

Wednesday, 22 February (General) 
Wednesday, 08 March (Look after your Housemate)
Wednesday, 15 March (International Students) 
Wednesday, 19 April (General) 
Wednesday, 17 May (TBC)
