In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week, Enabling Services will be running WellFest 2017 - a celebration of all things Wellbeing, join us for mindfulness sessions, workshops, food, games giveaways and much more!

On Monday 8 May at Garden Court (B40, Highfield Campus), WellFest will be open to all students at staff at the University. From 11:00-16:00 there will be a variety of stalls showcasing the wide range of wellbeing services, voluntary organisations and support available at the University and beyond. Throughout the day we will also be running a number of workshops, presentations and wellbeing sessions (open to all students and staff). These workshops will also be live-streamed across campus so even if you can't join in person - you can improve your wellbeing and join us online. Sign up by clicking the green button today.

11:30 - 12:15 - Physical Health & Wellbeing 
Are you moving enough? We may know that activity is beneficial for our physical health, but did you know that it can help with maintaining balanced and positive mental health as well? This workshop, presented by Delta Fitness, offers simple tips and tricks for all stages - beginners to experts - on how to keep your body moving and your mind at peace.

12:30 - 13:15 - Nutrition & Wellbeing
Are we really what we eat? A balanced diet and good nutrition helps to support our wellbeing in many ways - giving us energy, keeping us focussed and reducing stress levels and anxiety. This workshop, offered by Delta Nutrition, will cover easy ways to fuel your body and mind for better mental health and wellbeing.

13:30 - 14:15 - Getting a Better Nights' Sleep
Are you getting a good nights' sleep? This workshop presented by Enabling Services will provide information on best sleep practices, increase awareness of sleep routines, and help to determine the key factors that might be preventing those sweet dreams.

14:30 - 15:00 - Mindfulness Taster Session
Are you mindful? Mindfulness is about learning to be in the moment and move away from ruminating on the past or worrying about the future. Studies show that this helps to reduce the level of stress we experience. This taster session will include an introduction to informal mindfulness practices, including meditation and a variety of exercises aimed at bringing greater awareness, clarity, concentration and choice to experience.

15:15 - 16:00 - Art Therapy Taster Session (available to students only)
Are you creative? Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person's physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. This interactive workshop offered by The Priory will allow students to experience the process of Art Therapy and work towards creating something whilst improving their wellbeing at the same time.
