Take the time to look after yourself this festive season

As the winter break approaches, Enabling Services want you to be aware of ways to continue to look after yourself. December may leave you feeling a little uneasy with planning to go home, changing your routine, approaching exams and deadlines. It is important to use some time for your studies but remember that it is a holiday and you need to look after yourself too! If being at home feels stressful or causes you to worry, Samaritans are available nationwide so that you can access support wherever you are. The details for Samaritans are available below.

Here are some extra tips from us to help you feel positively about your holiday and start the new year feeling good.

-Organise your time and ensure you take some time out for yourself to relax

-Prioritise the things you want to achieve the most and don't be afraid to cancel plans if you're not feeling up to it.

-Have realistic expectations about your holiday plans to avoid risking disappointment.  Try not to compare yourself and your Christmas with what you see others post on social media.

-Remember, it's all about balance!

The links below offer some helpful tips to help make your holiday season relaxing.

Enabling Services final drop in of the year will be running on Friday 22nd December from 13.00-15.00 in Building 37 if you need to come and chat with us.  We will then be closed with the university from 23 December- 3 December (inclusive).  We look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year!
