Come along to the Disability and Employability Event on 16 May

The University of Southampton Careers and Employability Service are hosting an event during Mental Health Awareness Week 2018. This is a tailored event for students who have a disability, specific learning difficulty or long term health condition. The event is due to take place on Wednesday 16 May from 1:30pm-3:30pm. The event features a range of speakers who will share their experiences of either working with a disability, specific learning difficulty or long term health condition or of supporting those with a disability at work. Following the presentations you’ll have the chance to ask questions to all representatives on the themes covered, followed by informal networking with the employer representatives and staff from the Careers and Employability Service.

  • As an employee, experiences of working with a disability, specific learning difficulty or long term health condition

  • As an employer, identifying the support that is offered to employees in terms of reasonable adjustments, diversity schemes, pastoral support, access to work etc
  • Experiences of supporting those with a disability, specific learning difficulty or long term health condition
