Are you motivated, enthusiastic and keen to develop new skills while supporting peers facing mental health difficulties? You can now apply to volunteer for Student Minds!

Student Minds Southampton is a student group working to get students involved in facilitating peer-to-peer support for students experiencing low mood and mild depression.

Their series of six discussion sessions offers a safe atmosphere for discussion surrounding a different theme each time. They hope to support people experiencing or with experience of low mood, to build broader networks of social support, adopting self-care, engaging in more activity and to realise that they are not suffering alone.

Student Minds Southampton are recruiting for new group facilitators. This role provides the opportunity for students who are passionate about helping others and developing some new skills, receiving training and on-going support.

Being a group facilitator involves running safe support groups for students, organising and publicising the group, and keeping in touch with Student Minds. You will receive support after each group session and will have access to all of their online resources.

If you'd like to to make a real difference to student life whilst developing your own skills and CV, please apply by midnight on Sunday 3rd March. For more information on the application procedure, follow this link.
